New Competitive Stick Spiel Planned at Morris

Curl Morris has announced plans for an addition to the expanding 2-person stick bonspiel circuit in Manitoba. The Red River Valley International Stick Spiel will be played November 11-13 in Morris with an anticipated full entry of 28 teams.

If the full entry is achieved, the pools-format spiel will guarantee six round robin games with 12 teams advancing to a Sunday playoff for an estimated $2,000 in prize money. Entry fee is $160 Cdn ($125 US).

In addition to the projected $500 champion’s purse, the bonspiel winner will also earn a paid entry in the Manitoba Stick Curling Association’s 2023 Championship, to be hosted by Curl Morris in February. If the bonspiel champion team comes from outside Manitoba, that bonus prize will be a paid entry in the 2023 Red River Valley International Stick Spiel.

Preliminary bonspiel details are included on the attached information sheet and will also be found at the Canadian Stick Curling Association website (canadianstickcurling.ca) OR Manitoba Stick Curling Association website (manitobastickcurling.ca).
