St. Vital Curling Club recently announced that Warren Johnson has been named their 2021-22 Manitoba Curling Club Volunteer Award recipient.
In making the nomination for the award to CurlManitoba, St. Vital cited both Warren`s volunteer service to the St. Vital Curling Club and his volunteer service to stick curling in the province.
At St. Vital, he has served as Treasurer of both the St. Vital club and the St. Vital Stick Leagues as well as being organizer of stick-spiels at St. Vital in the recent past.
In the stick curling world, St. Vital acknowledged his long-service as MSCA Executive member, organizer/drawmaster of the MSCA’s Ernie Oliver and provincial championship bonspiels, and as organizer/clinic conductor for stick clinics in rural and city clubs.
St. Vital CC called Warren Johnson “a worthy and deserving individual for the CurlManitoba Volunteer of the Year Award.
Annually, CurlManitoba encourages clubs across the province to recognize their dedicated volunteers with this award. The decision is made by the club and one such award is presented annually in every club which submits a nomination.
