A total of 24 teams took to the AMCC ice 1/2 Oct to compete in the annual Ernie Oliver Stick spiel acknowledging his long time contributions towards the remarkable
growth in stick curling.
Kudos to the ice maker in dealing with unseasonably warm temperatures and humidifier issues in an effort to make playing conditions as curlable as possible while the curlers willingly adapted to changing ice assignments and draw times. Following 2 days of pool based competition Dewar McKinnon and Dale Gray of FRCC captured the Championship Division in a hard fought battle against Ralph Nespor and Rob Lacombe of the home club. Ken and Shirley Strand, representing SVCC, captured the Consolation Division in a fairly tight battle against Jim and Keren Rouse (Warren).
Special appreciation to the volunteer host committee, ice , restaurant/lounge staff, Facility management and all participants for ensuring a successful Event. The 2024/25 stick season is off to a good start. All teams were awarded MSCT points in keeping with their final results.
