Roy Minish two person stick bonspiel held on Fri, Jan. 12
L-R Brian C. Dwayne Strate, Dale Jersak.
Twenty two teams from Norquay, Roblin, and Swan River took part in the one day two-person Roy Minish Stick Bonspiel on January 12/24.
Roy Minish, a well known former Valley resident, organized and sponsored the first stick bonspiel about twelve years ago. Roy’s family continue to help sponsor the event.
Dwayne Strate & Dale Jersak, of Swan River, captured the trophy with a two point advantage after the last rock was thrown.
Three teams: Wes Stewart & Glen Campbell, Swan River; Barry Tall & Al Karton, Swan River, and Merv Robak & Robert Ferguson of Roblin, all finished in second place two points behind the winners.
Thanks again to the Roy Minish family for their continued sponsorship, and to all the curlers who braved the cold and snow to enjoy a fun day of curling.
